Since
2002, the organization “Muslims and Latter-day Saints United for
Values” (MLUV) in association with the Muslim Student Association (MSA)
of Georgetown University with broad LDS member support, has sponsored
interfaith dinners during the month of Ramadan to promote dialogue
and friendship between Mormons and Muslims.
There
is much that members of these two faith communities have in common.
Both believe in personal integrity and family unity, and hold a
conviction that commitment to one’s faith produces better individuals
and a better society.
In the hope of giving more people an
opportunity to participate in similar interfaith events, “Muslims and
Latter-day Saints United for Values” was formed. We hope to continue
working with our two communities in order to bring Muslims and
Latter-day Saints together to build bridges of peace, love and
understanding.
